Alright people I’m about to pull an auto box out of a kombi. My question is what type of tools do I need to do the job? Any specialized ones etc. I
will be doing the job on my own so are there any tricks that can help me as I have never pulled one out of a VW before.
thanks

Pull the engine and trans out together, then split them on the floor, don't forget to undo the torque converter bolts before splitting them,
other wise you will have auto fluid everywhere.
Just normal tools will do the job, but remember the engine and trans together are very very heavy, be careful if you are by yourself.
Don't forget the 2 top gearbox bolts, brake hose, auto shift cable, wires on the starter and regulator, I think thats all the ones I have
fogotten in the past!!
You will need a double spline bit (8mm I think?) if you wish to remove the flex plate from the crank.
thanks for the reply guys, it's a big help!
