Are these early or late Type 3 brakes? What year bug are you fitting them to? I'm pretty sure the rears a a bolt on fit

Sorry, they are 4 stud pattern and will be fitted to a ball joint/irs bug.

Rears bolt on if it is an IRS or wide swing axel gearbox ('68 and later), if its an early beetle you will need to machine a bit off the drum where the 36mm nut goes, 12mm I think?.

The type 3 early drum fronts don't fit Beetles.

Will the type 3 front disks bolt straight on?
Thanks,
Alex.

Apparently there were two types of type 3 calipers....I think there were a changeover model the had the same bolt spacing as the beetle and could be bolted straight on but the other ones have the bolt spaces too far apart.

Hi

The 71 & earlier calipers & rotors will fit a bug. The later ones have wider spaced bolts.

These are the 2 different pad types.

Depends if you have short or long rear axles. Depends if you have one or two piece rears as well.

I think mine are the later model calipers, can they be made to fit a bug? would it be posible to use the type 3 spindles on a bug front beam?
Thanks,
Alex.
