:o i would like to keep my 70 bug air cooled,so how hard is it to fit a 2.0 kombi motor, and to convert it to up right, can i still run kadrons.
and is this conversion worth doing,
not so much after a race car,how would it compare to a 1916,i would think the 2.0 would have more power down low,as my old 1916 seem to rev heaps but
not to much off the mark power,
as most speed limits seem to be 50ks...any help prices etc would be
good.
one more thing would you use the injected motor or not..............:beer

There's sure to be more similar.

I moved this post as I don't really consider a type 4 conversion the full engine conversion you need for a jap motor.
You'll get more responses in the normal tech forum, as some purists that know about type 4's may hate jap motors and not read the engine
conversions section. :thumb

Unless you made your own manifolds, i would say you cant run Kads.
My guess for cost would be atleast $4k
$1k - webers
$1K - UPRIGHT KIT
$1k - good 2nd hand 2L
$1k - custom exhaust
Daz67? is putting one in his 63 that he is doing up
Is it worth it?? Well Jake reckons there aint no other option. Type 1 steeeenks according to him
Would have to think you would get heaps more torque.
IF you want hi po then expect to pay.
Dont even think stroker!
