Anyone got a good idea on running a cable front to rear for my new temp gauge

I'll go and take a pic for you of this cunduit I used to protect/insulate the cables I ran front to rear for my Microbus.

I poked the conduit through some existing rubber plugs that allready had wire looms in them, tight squeeze but thats what you want.

Running the conduit through the chassis and rails is the easy bit, just poke it through existing drillings and any long spans I used a cable tie to hold it firm.

Size of Conduit compared to a ten cent coin.

I got the conduit from REPCO. It was about $0.45/metre

I have lots of wires running from the front to rear on my bug, the easiest thing to do is buy some of the 8 core wire they use for trailer wiring and run that through, this way you will lots of spares for the future.

I'm guessing a '72S will be very similar to my'73L bug. I ran a few cables all internally.
There is a cavity on the outer edge of the car (below the external vents behined the rear windows) that is filled with foam (the stuff that absorbs water and rusts them out there). I pushed a stiff wire through it, and used it to pull the cables through.

From inside you need to get behind the vinal panel next to the rear seats, and from the engine, it's up in the top left/right of the engine bay. Hard to explain. If your out this way again one day I can show you

got some of that conduit

tried to run it through the roof arches - no success

looked under the seat and found the other end of cables running from the disused testing unit. run a cable from there under the door trim and into the front

now to get the sender tapped and installed and complete the wiring at the gauge
