baybuscamperkid - October 25th, 2003 at 12:56 PM

just bought a 2nd hand window from a converted panel to replace the broken one in mine, got it home and fount it is nearly an inch too small both in width and height. can i get rubbers that are thicker? does anyone want to swap for a bigger one?

which window?

You wont be able to get thicker rubbers.

If the window you are replacing is the same as any of the others you currently have in the van, take one of the others to a glass place and they will be able to cut a new one for you.

They will be able to make it out of laminated or if you wait they will get it toughened.

thanks helbus, what would that cost? the window is behind the drivers seat above the sink. i think the ones on the other side are the same size.

You will notice that virtually ALL windows inserted into windowless vans etc.. are always 25-50mm smaller than what would have been fitted there by the factory, as they just cut a hole in the flat metal surface... rather than cut where the original would have been....
