there ARE two fog lights... Are is plural...
Its Very Expensive.... thats all I can say.
One of the locals has had a few things done in Tamworth in NSW and I know of another who uses a place in Newcastle..
but just think Expensive.... look up the yellow pages under - Electroplating -

Hamilton chrome in Newcastle do a good job. I have used them several times and the cost is resonable.
They are a little slow but the quality is good.

Had a quote to do all the chrome on the bus. Headlight rims, VW emblem, door handles X 4, window latches and have dings taken out of headlight rims, $200. Ended up having one tail light trim ring brought back to new - $20. Modern Plating in Melbourne. They do a lot of car stuff. A lot of resto stuff (Classic Car Magazine - have a look at ad) right through to those mega Semi mufflers and exhausts.

Ask around panel shops in sydney or the gong, they would use people all the time...
Its not that expensive...if it is then go somewhere else, I've had a few things done, bumpers, badges, etc and the price has always been reasonable

Lee, that would be
It's Very Expensive, not
Its Very Expensive.
"It's" is an abbreviation.

oh and Expensive doesn't need a capital mid sentence...

Robo,

I will bring some info on Friday, the guy i used in Lismore was a little dodgy and Judy had a bad experience there as well...my mate Pete (the guy with the 356) had some stuff done recently somewhere else, he was pretty happy.

He is the bob of byron, fascinating stories, been restoring vw's for over 20 years...had a tour this week

so roughly how much have one of you guys paid to get a set of bumpers done ???

KruizinKombi - October 26th, 2003 at 11:01 AM

A mate had both his bumpers and a pair of driving lights done for $480, somewhere in Melbourne, but don't ask where coz I don't know. :)

Volkspower are doing them and yes, about $240 per end.

Adam, if you live in Bargo (like my brother does), then Sydney is where you'll have to go. I've always used Blu-Chrome at Bankstown (dunno their details, but they're in the phone book). They've always given me good service, but I've other people knocking them. They do a good job and are reasonably priced, but they can take a while during busy times.

Adam_C - October 29th, 2003 at 05:30 PM

where bouts in bargo... and does he have VW's.... theres a few dubbers here :P

cheers

He's been in Biara St for a few years - no. 14 I think, the one with the huge buggered wooden boat in the driveway. They're in the process of moving to a bigger property in Marshall St. No, he's not a VW man (nobody's perfect). He drives an LTD and a Land Rover Discovery.

The cost in chroming (not the paint sniffing type) is in the polishing.

Its bugger all to dip the things it's the preping and polishing at the end that costs the $.

I just had my 4 t-bars and a number plate holder i made chromed and it cost $80.

at $80/hour i'll polish them myself.
