How can I get negative camber on the front end of a king and link bug... Is there a way or is Vernon destined to understeer now and then? :P

the best method is to pan swap or fit a ball joint front bulkhead and front end to your early chassis.
1 deg neg is about the limit before binding occurs. Increase your caster by putting some spacers between your front beam and the chassis (lower
torsion tube), these can be purchased from our forum sponsors :thumb
This will effect the camber of the wheels when turning, when it is needed !

I already have castor spacers behind the lower torsion tube, this is to compensate for the change in attitude due to dropping the fornt end... I

You only need to use the shims provided or else you get too much and a negative result.
Make sure they sit in the correct position on the torsion tube.
You can increase your castor by 5 degrees or more (using longer bolts and stacked shims,) but it sounds to me like you might have another problem.
Check your bearings and bushes by jacking the car up and setting it on jack-stands. With someone to watch you (for safety - if the car falls off the
stands, you want it removed as quickly as possible,) grab the tyres and give them a good waggle. If anything feels loose or rattly, chase it down
and replace it. Look for obviously bent componentss. Check the steering dampner.
If none of these lead to anything, it might be time to seek out a professional. Make sure to tell him of all you have done - if he dismisses them
all, you might want to look further afield.

Can't do much more than that to the old link pin jobbies - and the more you try, the more the spindly little suspension arms flex and wobble

Get softer front shocks
Get stiffer rear shocks
Add a sway bar to the rear
Get stiffer rear springs
Increase front toe-out
Increase rear toe-out

Best thing to do is rip the beam off & put some struts in it.................or just buy a Superbug!
