This is the scenario .. The Notch has been sitting in my garage for the last five months .. I drove it in there .. Started it a month later but now I cannot get it to start period .. FYI it is still an original 6V.

I have tried the following:

Squirted "Aerostart' down the carby (Thanks Dave) - Still no go.
Checked that I have a spark at the points - Still no go
Tried swapping over the 6V coil to another coil - Still no go
Pulled the fuel pump out and checked diaphram - It seems Ok .. However when I disconnected the pipes fuel did not spill everywhere. The pushrod for the pump is still intact.
** Yes - I have checked that there is petrol in the tank
Replaced the HT lead from the coil to the dizzy with another lead to see if it would fire on 3 cylinders - Still no go
Checked all wiring is connected.

So I still am trying to elimate if it a fuel problem or an electrical problem.

Is it likely that the condensor may have died? Or the relays in the circuit?

Please throw your ideas at me .. I need to get a Pink Slip next week .. Thanks in advance ..

Lex,
I suggest You put a hose from the inlet side of the fuel pump into a bottle or tin with NEW fuel in it...
Fuel gets old very quickly these days..
Use unleaded fuel.... if it dosn't start then, pour a bit down the carby throat and hold the throttle closed (flat out) and see if the engine will kick and run with the new fuel...
If it runs with fuel poured down the carby throat, but not with a new bottle of fuel, You will have to clean out Your Carby... and maybe Your pump if its NOT a sealed unit... at least You know that there IS spark there- if it fired up...
spray & Wipe inside the distributor cap with WD40 in case of condensation.. Check to see if the accellerator pump is working by putting your finger on the end of the small bent over pipe in the carby throat. Fuel should squirt out of that pipe everytime the throttle is pushed.... If not its a carby overhaul.... which I have to do.. and replace the accellerator pump rubber diaphram.

The fuel goes off.... totally off but I;m not sure how long it takes.. I hope it wasn't LRP fuel....

When you give the carby a pump by hand. As in grabbing the bit the cable goes to and twisting it to flat out and back. Does the carby squirt petrol inside. You can see this by looking down into the carby. If it is, then at least you know you are getting fuel.
If not, look at your pump, or see if the needle and seat is stuck shut.
Take the plugs out and clean them as they may have fouled.
While one is out, sit it on the side of the engine block (not near any spilt fuel) and see if the spark is nice and bright when cranking. Dont hold it with your hand.

When i got married and bought my house, I remembered the promise i made to my notch, when i got the time and means sorted i landed at my Dad's place one arvo with a new battery and a jerry can.
The Notch started first go, after one year left standing in the place it got parked.
These critters have a lot of heart, and I'd be surprised if your's would give out now.
It'll be something you simply over looked.
Have faith and trust in your notch!

Well I pulled out a plug like Helbus suggested and for a 6Volter it had a mighty spark.. That ruled out electrical

In succession I took the fuel in and fuel out hoses off the fuel pump to see if it was pumping fuel.. It wasn, no fuel came out of either hose.

I then pulled the fuel pump off and apart again .. The diaphram looks OK but ... I thought to be safe I'd buy a new kit for it tommorrow...

But then whilst eliminating the only two possible factors fuel or electricity .. I was stumped ... What else could it be? I then figured I'd blow down the fuel in hose .. In theory if I heard bubbles ... this would tell me the fuel line is clear ... Well I blew .. and heard bubbles .. Let go of the pipe ... And fuel pissed out everywhere ..

Problem solved .. So I put the pump back together and tried again .. Now fuel pisses out from the pump .. So I guess I'm half way there ..
