On a 1300 SP, I changed the generator to a 12v one not the carby (28PICT) won't fit, its hitting the generator. I was told by a reliable source I
need to make a spacer to lift the carby up and away from the generator. Is this spacer readily available or where do I get it from? Also I am
concerned if I raise the carby, the airfilter will now hit the KG engine lid! I am sure I have seen engines upgrade to 12v without the use of such
spacer? Is there a different manifold I need which is slightly offset away from the generator?
Raf
Raf,
Did you put a 12v generator pedestal on the engine as well? I think you need one. Never heard of a carby spacer except the 34PICT to 30PICT
adapter?
Steve
Yes, I used a 12v stand. I had to anyway because the 12v generator has a larger diameter than the 6v
Give the manifold a tug so it bends slightly towards the coil, it hits by only a very small amount (right?) so only a small tug or hit with a hammer.
Yep you could do that or leaver it with a larger screw driver only enough to clear.
I thingk the accelerator pump lever hits or at least it does with the Judson.
Never thought of doing that, I'll try it. Looks like it will need 5mm or so
Raf
Operate the accelerator when / while your bending so it only goes the minimum distance
Hi
The "12 volt carbs" had a different accelerator pump setup to fix this problem, you could make a spacer out of anything petrol resistant,
even get one profile cut out of steel. I dont think the factory made anything.

Won't budge.
i would think you should be using a different carby to a 28pict on a 1300cc.
the 28pict is fine with a 1200 and 12volt, and a 30pict with a single port 1600. have had both fitted to my KG.
True but won't make a difference with my clearance problem
Ive got a 30Pict 1 on my 1300sp its std.:thumb
