I was just wondering if anyone knew what the RTA states about appearance of the car (surface rust/dents etc) with regards to getting a blue slip on an
unregistered car.
Reason I ask is that I'd like to get my T3 panel van registered and put a set of chromed EMPIS on there, drop it down, fill in the rear windows
and put some aged sign writing on the side of it! The paint is faded and its got a few dents and I will need to replace the outer sills, and its got
the usual holes on the top of the guards but its solid apart from that.
Here is a pic?
I'm sure someone else is thinking rat look too?
Cheers
Steve
Steve
how many bloody cars do you have???? :jesus
Every time you post you are asking a tech question on a different car!!!
It just aint fair :cry:cry:cry
hey
i spose its who u know!! i dont see why they shouldn't pass it if everything works!!
appearance doesnt really play a big part i think!!
surface rust aint hard to sand off just to get it blue slipped!!
but that looks sweet!!

My square got through a blue slip with a few dents, pretty scruffy paint & an almost stripped interior. All I had done after buying it was new
tyres & clean up the contacts for the lights etc. I don't have the rust problem though.
I had considered leaving mine "ratty", but it wasn't ratty enough!!
try and register it and let us know, only way to find out
Rust and mechanicals is the only concern...
By the way a rat look isn't really an old bunger... A rat is a car that has been put together with spares etc. Just happens that most look old
and beaten. A rat can still have good paint and no rust!
When you said 'T3 panel van' I was expecting an 80's Transporter.

Barry,
Still got a couple more up my sleeve I've not told you about! :P
hey this should be on the new relevancy-improved rat forum
Moderator?
Can we move this to the Rat Forum please
Thanks
