Kombi Idling
fatboy - December 21st, 2003 at 02:35 PM

Ne1 got ideas about this.

having trouble with my idle (Kombi) twin stock carbs

Just did the timing (Got me a timing light and figured it out Kol) and it runs / idles nicely, but if I rev it hard and let go the throttle then it stops idling nicely and cuts out. :(

if I slowly let of the throttle then its a little better

Having just gonr through similar probs with Daisy i can only suggest vacuum leaks.
Check all the pipe connections on the manifolds etc and especially check the cut off solenoid on the front of the lhs carb

I am led to believe there are a couple of rubber boots off the heads them selves.

The slow to react to a rev suggests vac leak

OMG i just did this too on my bus !!!!!

try the balance rail seals .....there these 2 rubber "L" joints that come out of the bottomb of the carby and run a pipe between ( on the front side ) the carby's...

if they are perished or not on that will cause the problems you are haveing..

good luck :thumb

Hi

You will get this problem with a lean mixture, points not set right and also check the brake booster connection on the balance tube.

Could also be a faulty dashpot, this little device stops the throttle from closing too fast, and stalling the engine. its on the left side of the main conecting bar (linkage).
