fuel problem
type2truck - December 22nd, 2003 at 08:13 PM

My ól trusty ute has let me down twice in as many days due to starving for fuel ,only in this real hot weather I might add! Once it cuts out it wont get any fuel up to the carbies, I was wondering should I put a electric fuel pump on to help this problem? and if so what type can any one recommend? It's got an 1800cc.

Yep! I decided after sitting on the side of the road 4 times during temperatures rangeing from the hign 30's into the low 40's it was time to install an inline electric fuel pump!
Went to work yesterday at 4;00am came home at lunch with no prob's.:D

VW54, No I didn't but turns out I should've went from no fuel to too much fuel ! I took it back off got my money back[çause I didn'twant to pay another $100 for a reg. plus relays etc] and ended up meeting a fella on the side of the road[broken down for the 5th time] who is a vw mechanic who had a genuine pump and pushrod new for $70.
I've taken it off the road to give it a overhaul, service etc.
