Myles

I think your trying to adapt a set of Jap seats onto your VW seat runners, is this correct.

If so you needto do some cutting and welding. I used square tube welded onto of the VW runners to mount the Honda seats in my car.

This sort of thing you just carnt buy you have to make it yourself.

$#it, sorry, I forgot all about it! :o

The camera is sitting in my locker at work, so I'll bring it home tomorrow. Sincerest apologies.... :)

yes .. thats pretty much wat i wanna do as i was going to get honda prelude or swift gti seats ... but i was given charade turbo seats .. they fit in (i have placed them in to see if they were 2 wide)

but i just need the runners .. as i have rung a few places up and they ask me wat shape r they .. but i havent seen some b4 so thats y i ask wat shape is the 69 runners as (or if there is others like 68-72 runners fit?) ..some of these placers dont know (im guessing)

thanks for the info 54 and kombi for doing that :bounce

'68 seat from RHS:

PS. Sorry that took so long - I had a difficult time trying to coordinate the wife's bug and work's camera to both be home at the same time.

Myles,
i think someday we will have to meet :D
I have a bug called 'step child' that is coming together also. it is a '56 body, 68 semi-auto pan (so its IRS) and I am thinking about the seats as well (I have a pair of recaros that are going in the front).
Scary, sounds like this mix isn't that odd. I am looking at the comments on your seats as well. I have a set that came out of the '68, but am reluctant to cut the bases off, so will look in the junk yards.

Me too ...

I've got Honda Prelude seats for my '56/'70 Oval. Problem is that the Prelude seat runners don't run parallel to the tunnel, they are set at an angle across the car. So I can't use the VW runners on the pan anyway.

My engineer said I could use 3mm angle steel bar to make the frame myself.

Looks like you've done a great job with the wiring on your car, Myles. Cool.
