so, it's getting to that time whne i've really gotta start thinking about this one, for my '68 beetle as it's nearing completion. the question i am asking is about running no bumpers or installing t-bars. are either of these options legal? and if not, what other options do i have apart from running ugly standard bumpers.
I personally wouldnt NOT run bumpers for the fact it will stop bumps and dents.
The beetle is too exposed without them
I dont think no bumpers is legal
not sure about T bars??
What about a colour coded match??
I really like the matched head light ring, bumper, door handle etc look
Like my Smoothhieee
run the bumpers cray it will make the car look better. Run the blinkers in the front bar if you can get one .

nbturbo
You took the words right out of my mouth but i didnt want to say that
as i said, i'm asking if there are any other options. comprende?
I think to be strictly legal you will have to run the originals.
What about some 4 inch green Permapine Posts-TEK screw them to the original brackets-Paint 'em any colour you like.
thanks for the useless sarcasm, arsewad.

I used to run around with no bumpers on my old Beetle, it was like it for a couple of years.
I was pulled over a heap of times but nothing was ever said about the bumpers!
Who gives a shit about what other people like and do what ever makes you happy.
I know for sure if you dont run them ... then the cops will love to check you over every time they drive past.
There are plenty running no bumpers or nudge bars/tee bars but I have had a knockback at rego inspection due to no bumpers before. Just depends on the inspection station.
fair enough
i guess if you do get defected for it, what do you do? go home and put the bumpers on and head to the pits :P
thanks for the info guys
