can any one tell me if its ok to paint my generator, i like the idea of having my generator fan housing and shroud all the one colour but cant seem to find any pictorial evidence that you can do this. see plenty of chrome jobs but this is not really the look im after. cheeers:party

GO FOR YOUR LIFE...car spark by trade and we would paint them when reconditioning.

No it wont hurt the genny but dont paint the area where it sits on the genny stand as the paint will only loosen the tension on the fan belt as it squashes off and compresses down. Better off having it metal to metal

ive also been wanting to do this for quite some time now:) but what type of paint should i use? do you need heatproof paint, because im having a B**ch of a time finding red heatproof paint.

You can use any paint you dont need a heat proof one as your generator does not get hot, or as hot as an exhaust lets say.
