There's been a few posts lately on this product-has any body used the Tank Sealer from this crowd? If so-how was the experience?

I have used it. Tank looked a treat after cleaner and metal ready-nice and clean and no rust. Sealer went on well. It takes a bit of time turning the tank over and over to make sure the sealer gets into every corner. I would advise you only pour in a 1/3 of the can at most, this will be more than enough. Save the rest in the can for another tank.

I cannt comment on it's durability as I haven't put the tank back in the car yet and filled it with fuel.

Thanks-is it thin like water or thicker? Did you have to seal up the openings to stop it leaking out or is it thick enough to prevent that?

The fuel tank sealer comes in a kit, called a Fuel Tank Resto Kit. It contains the POR cleaner "Marine Clean", a metal etchant and rust remover "Metal Ready" and the "US Standard Fuel Tank Sealer". The sealer is much thicker than water, but you do need to plug all the holes, inlet pipes etc, except the one you use to pour the stuff in through. They claim that it will seal small pin holes. The kit cost $99 +p&h, but it will do at least two VW size tanks.
The Marine Clean is one of the best wax & grease removers I have ever used, much better than any of the solvent based ones and it can be reused many times. The Metal Ready is also a top rust remover and preprimer, it can also be reused many times.
