lowering a 74L
vdub2c - November 19th, 2002 at 03:14 PM

hey y'all,

Just a quick question:

How do i lower a 74L bug (not by heaps just a few inches...) But i want it to be REAL cheap... i'm talking REALLLLY REALLLY cheap. Don't mind if it's a bit of a dodgy job, as long as it still drives well.

thanks y'all.

yeah lowering a super isnt as cheap... i think u have to use lowered struts up front, the back u can just rotate the splines for the torsion leaves

I lowered mine by machining the welds off the strut bottom spring carrier and welding it back on 1 & 1/2" lower.(I think this the max you can go with standard incerts)and lowered the back by turning the tortion bars. Easy and cheep.
