What I've done is to get the 12V pump out of an el-cheapo washer kit (most car parts places have them) and connect it onto the original water
container. The pump simply connects into the line from the bottom of the original bottle feeding the washers. I also removed the valve for
pressurising the bottle, and extended the tube up under the dash as a breather.
Then it was a simple matter if a power cable (make sure it's fused!) and a switch on the dash.
I'd also recommend replacing the tubes if they are original, as they are more than likely perished by now.
Hi
Good advice from Kombi kid about using the original washer bottle. I have electric washers on my bug. I fitted a micro switch in the wiper switch so
that when you pull back on the wiper stalk to use the washers it operates the washers via the micro switch.

Similar, but I just used the bottle and motor from a kit supposed to be for a holden - holds plenty of fluid, keeps the cops happy and, best of all, it's cheap!
thanks for the info guys!

Use the origional VW bottle and get an aftermarket pump there about $11.00 from most places.
If you carnt find one let me know.
My suggestion, put in the most powerful washer pump you can find, and install extra squirters to get pedestrians with. Heaps of fun.:P
hey thanks dave any brand names to make it easier?

Just go along to the local Coffs Auto one or Repco store they should have a catalogue listing several different styles available, pick one that has a
mounting block so it will make fitting to your car easier.
thanks dave!

hey reece
probably repeating wat others said but i fitted one of these pumps to my '59. remember the one i told u about that i had problems getting a blu
slip for?
the motors r cheap and the job is not very difficult. i mounted the motor down behind the spare wheel in the beetle, im not sure wat the kombi is
like though.
but anyway, its not hard to do at all and u can use ur original bottle no problems...
has anyone fitted one to an Oval, theres no squirters?:repuke

i have a water pump as dad showed me (bought it for a fountain and never got made) its one from dick smith so i will try and make up a braket for it
today! where about do u hook it into bottle?

pipe at bottom of bottle to tube to T-piece, to squirters. If you are using the original make sure you leave the vent hole open (where the tube came from the tyre.)
