Just blew my 2 litre kombi engine up on Sunday at dubs by the pub.

Need a good engine to replace it. Also thought I may as well put a 2 litre box in while I'm at it. I currently have a 1600 gearbox in it.

So anyone with a 2 litre engine or gearbox in Brisbane area let me know.

yeh i hav a 2L motor in very good condition and slightly worked... maybe we can come to a deal... but the box has been sold...

I have a 2ltr box - $500

I also have a fully recon bottom end, no pistons and barrels but a set of new heads to go with it - Price $1850

Made a deal on a new engine. Brought the 2 litre that was for sale by the bloke with the V8 Twincab ute at Dubs by the pub.

Just chasing a 2 litre box now and I will be back on the road again.

we havent formally met yet but i also have a white 72 twin cab. there really is no better way! i am near byron and have been chasing the same sort of thing! i have found a gearbox for $300 and another for $150. the more expensive one was better aparently?! give me a call on 0414 726194

Picking engine up tomorrow and gearbox on Monday. Will pull out old engine and gearbox and install replacements during the week (with a bit of help from 11Cab). Should be back on the road by next weekend for the Sunshine Coast Cruise.

11Cab is here and the engine and gearbox change is happening tonight. Will keep you updated.

Well done for tonight. Got the old engine and box out. 1st picture is of replacement Engine and gearbox. 2nd picture is of 11Cab at work. 3rd picture is of engine and gearbox out. 4th picture is of empty engine bay awaiting engine and box tomorrow night.

Engine & box are in, but not to running stage yet. Having a break from it tonight and will be finishing off on Saturday. Will be running for Sunday cruise. However, 41 degrees is predicted for Saturday and Sunday which is not ideal vw cruising temperature.

If it is 41 degrees I think I will just kick back in the airconditioning at home and having a few beers.

Got the engine and gearbox in. Had a couple of hickups on the way, but she is in and running.

A huge thank you to 11Cab who is an absolute legend. Tought me heaps and couldn't have done it without him:thumb
