Am about to do a first tune on a totaly rebuilt 1600 and wondering if anything else i should do in addition to
-valve adjust
-oil change
-dwell,idle and timing
- any reason why i should not use castrol magnatec 10 w-40 oil? Cheers David:cool:

ummm... sounds abou right

Maybe pull the plugs just to check

When you do the oil make sure you take the plate off not just the plug. Just to look what is laying on the plate

Plugs are good for 20,000k .. If your going to pull the plugs, why don't you do a compression test at the same time , just to see that all is how it should be ... I usually take the oil relief plugs out and clean them so they don't stick.. as thats where junk will accumulate after a rebuild..

I personally would not reccomend the Magnatec oil.....just my opinion though. I use GTX2 in all my engines and have tried Magnatec, Do a search on oils in the search bar and read what other people use and why... Would be good to retorque the heads if you have the tools (bottom studs only)
