I'm not 100% sure, but i thnk that Mick Motors had "new" motors for sale at some stage.
If you go into the VW business directory you may find them in there.
Oh yeah they are in brisbane too.
Lee.
he did the oil change it was full a metal bits , was all so purchased as a 1600cc , Pulled the heads of last week It was a 1500cc
The oil pump holes that go into the block were 6mm very strange ! also found the timing out ,so stripped the block all the bolts on the crank we loose

often, when you run in a new motor, you get little aluminium flecks and sparkles and shiny silvery bits suspended in the oil on the first oil change
(from machining and bedding etc and burrs). which is one reason why you do your first oil change straight after the first few minutes of running, and
then one soon after (couple hundred k's) and the timing goes out, as do the valve clearances etc etc. maybe the motor was okay...:alien
you sure it wasn't just the usual stuff?

Brazilian Motors or so called "new motors" also have a cast crank instead of forged.
In saying that they are OK for stockies and good donor motors for the other new parts !
I would just rebuild a secondhand 1600 :thumb
