Is it possible to change rings with out touching the bottom end. It's on a 1600 twin port. Has great compression but seens to be using oil.:cry Maybe the oil rings have gone but compression rings fine. Was just going to replace rings if at all possible.

Wotchu talkin' 'bout; gasket set? He'll prolly need rocker cover gaskets (which you can pick up at any decent auto-parts store) but if it's not leaking from the pushrod tube seals that's prolly all.

The simple answer is, yes, but the rings may not be the problem. If the rings are worn, the ring lands prolly are too; one of the reasons it is usual to replace the P&C set - pretty cheap on a stocker.
