2liter more power so the gear box is lifting and thumping the pan. All mounts are brand new, and tight. Can one get urethane gear box mounts? To change the mounts one has to pull the F@#$ING motor hey. What about a modification to lower the trans a tad, bad idea?
Must be tight under there. You can get urethane mounts, also a tranny strap at the front and rear will stop it lifting, Bugpack make a cheapy strap that should do the trick... It stops the tranny moving away from the frame horns.
You can go Berg and solid mounted g'box
2L "shouldn't" have THAT much power
yeah go back to the rubber mounts and use the berg type tranny mount, its easy to make urself and works great.
with the berg mount there is no need to solid mount it as u can use rubber mounts to reduce the vibration. has worked on my car for years
Thanks guys, whats a Berg type tranny mount? and how does it work?
sounds like the front mount is moving? Does your gearstick move when you apply load?
it uses a crescent shaped bit with holes drilled into it to match the studs which the nosecone mounts on the tranny case.
the bottom of the plate is welded onto a bar which is then bolted thru rubber mounts to the forks.
they are really strong and you wont need a normal front mount if u have it.
a torsion bar/ traction bar also stops the forks from flexing
I see, No I havent noticed the gear stick moving. Even on very slow acceleration there is a slight thump. So as Blue said, how could it be a sooo much power thing. which it hasnt really. All mounts are new, tight (I think) Oh my god!!! Its not the Tranny its self? internals?
