Can anyone tell me what they did to keep their Splitty warm specially if you have kids?

Sleeping bag. Unzip the bottom and drive around like that. Or you could use a blanket on the seat and put it over you as you drive. That's what I do!

Or there are some propane heater/blower systems I've been looking at, but you're not supposed to use it while driving, and they cost an arm and a leg.

What do you do with infants/kids?

Put them in the engine bay.

I have a BN4 petrol heater I was going use, but it won't fit with my twin carbs unless I do some major cutting.

Wrap the kids up in some sleeping bags, hopefully they'll think it's fun!

My daughter is 19 months old and I think if I dont fit another battery in the split she should just fit on the left hand side ??????

I wrapped the main feed heater tube from front to back in a carpet insulation material like felt or such.

Never had a problem with it used to drive to the snow and mountains nice and warm.

Put in a 1916.
Good performance motors produce nice toasty heat.

The standard heater boxes on my 65 Splitty keep it nice and toasty. They take about 20 mins to get the interior warmed up. My splitty is based on a Microbus which had one heat exchanger feeding the front cabin, and one feeding the rear. I am surprised how well it works!

Make sure all your seals are good too!

You could check and see if your heater boxes have the alloy finned section inside them. There some out tehre that dont have the origional alloy section inside them. The alloy part retains the heat better and will add more heat to your cabin.
