Kombi~Mike - May 15th, 2004 at 12:34 AM

Was wondering how hard it would be for me to swap a 2ltr and gearbox from a 76 bay into a 71??
conflict with mounting etc.. ??
Any help would be great thanx

You wouldn't need a sharp built kit, It should go straight in, you might need to modify the tinware around the back as they are slightly different.

(I have a 73/74 gearbox in a 59)

Cheers

Hi

Rather than using a Sharpbuilt fan etc, whynot fit the engine aby panels from a later bus and use all the stock fan & housing etc? You will also need to fab a centre trans mount.

This is Jake Raby's thoughts on converting from a T1 to a TIV engine:

im pretty sure u will have to use an 1800 flywheel to put a 2l in a 1600 box

yeah you do have to use a fly wheel that is either 210mm or 215mm (Better) as the 228mm will not fit with out grinding away most of the supporting martial, but if you are using a Type 4 Box, no worries.
