No kit available.

As they are like kads in the sense there is no left and right carb, you will either have to mount them like Kads with the mechanism at the front and have a push pull linkage or have them side ways with a reversing pulley.

Get in contact with Kombikim.

He is running a rather unique set up of twin progressives with the reversing set up.

Which way are you going to mount them... which direction is the throttle shaft. The Ken Virgin set up works well. I had these on my 56 for a few years.

Its proberly the easist to make a well.

which way do u want to sit the throttle arms.... same as stock running across the car or turn them so they run front to back.

The Virgin linkages run across the car not front to back

What are the manifolds and carbies you have

Are the manifolds you have steel or Alloy ??

Come n have a look at my ones first.

you have email dave....... and manifolds depend on what i can get..... or have made up ...... i know i shouldnt try to make them but im guessing a vw shop will be able to make them up for me .... or atleast giv me something to copy from ......

cheers

dave, i meant the manifolds get made up.... i know your the goto man for the linkages lol..... but could i get manifolds machined up if i gave them a peice to work with ?...... aluminium manifolds..... or should i be searching really hard?

OK first of all you need 1 or 2 old stuffed blocked 1200 40hp manifolds... I presume your fitting them to a 1200 40hp ??? right or 36 hp which ever you need

Get this and cut the end pieces off where they bolt onto the heads so you have the flange and a bit of the upriser. If you can find 2 it will save you making the carby flange as well cut this off and trim.

this has to be ground away so a new bit of bent pipe can be made and welded into position.

The manifold pipes are about 200mm long and have to be bent to suit the engine and fan housing LOOK at mine lots of grinding and bashing here to get them right

This combo gives great torque and better than fitting a Judson... I have had both fitted to a 36hp ...

ahhh.... so u can make them myself..... cool.... i get my iscence in a bout 2 weeks dave, so ill take a cruise over to your place one day after school and check them out .....
very excited bout this, i had thought of making them but thought it would be a bad idea incase i fooked it up too much.....

Adam_C - May 25th, 2004 at 06:50 PM

ill be sure to bring a few crownies for your troubles ....

Adam_C - May 25th, 2004 at 07:02 PM

what size tubing is needed? to make the manifolds.... Inside diameter and wall thickness?...... i might bring some shit over when i come and make up a little jig ..... so i can make mine up at the correct bend.... to save the whole trial and error fit .... just gota get another carb now.......
