am wondering when putting the CV onto the driveshaft does it matter what way u put it on? like which way its falls apart etc?

Check out this article. It's what I used when changing the cv grease in my kombi (and they haven't fallen off, yet).

The manual recommends re-installing the CV's the way they came off, but the new ones I have give no indication of direction, or which way to install.

I have how ever cleaned my old CV's, (I had intended replacing them), I re-installed them first to drive in the opposite direction to original (they were starting to pit) to see how they went. That was 20k km ago.
Either way, there is not enough movement in the axel for them to fall off (if everything is standard).
Oh, I have a '77 kombi.

Hi Rhys,
I had many problems when regreasing My Son's Girlfriend's Baja '69 Beetle with IRS rear end. The centre piece of the CV Joint has a slight chamfer on ONE Side Only... very difficult to see when Packed with Nice Dark Grey Moly Lithium Based grease.... but they won't go on the incorrect way.... Don't forget that if You pack the CV's full of the Beautiful Dark Grey sticky messy Lithium based grease.... Your CV's will last virtually forever.... You should Also be using this grease on the front end and Ball joints etc it is wonderful stuff.... the BEST !!
If You have been using green grease... use only on door latches and Push Bikes etc....

One Very important thing to do when replacing CV Joint assemblies.... and that is to Compress the Circlips that keep the CV's onto the shaft... BEFORE YOU reuse/ replace them... I found just hitting them with a hammer or squeezing them in a Vice will be OK... The CLIPS don't seem to be made of Spring steel.... I found the same on Japanese FWD CVs... and don't hit the assembled shafts with a hammer.... I still have a shaft with seized repacked CV assemblies... I even tried bolting them to the gearbox etc ... but it stalled the engine.... No one has been able to advise Me on how to unlock them....:o
