"Would not fit under the engine lid.

Ramflo aircleaners are the only one's i have sucessfully fitted to a type3.

You can get them anywhere and mould the wire to shape."

Quoted from Tazz when i asked him.

I asked this question on a Type 3 forum and the overwhelming response I got was WHY?? According to all the responses, the original oil filled cleaner is just as good if not better than any aftermarket unit. Keep in mind that the stock cleaner sucks in cold air from outside, while a filter unit like the one pictured above will suck in hot air from over the engine. On a stock motor, I don't think you would get any noticable improvement in performance.

So tru.....
But unless you Heat wrap the left hand section of the aircleaner it heats up, Thus one side gets cool air and the other gets warm..... I have seen someone cut holes in the Engine lid but thats just a no no....

Stick with the original... its does work great.....
