A friend of mine has an early bug the prob is. when the car is pointed up a hill it wont go into gear but when it is pointed down a hill it will go in without a problem have you heard of this before can you help him.

Hmm that sounds really weird,

I'll guess that the shifter bushing is probably worn, as well as the shifter coupling and the tranny mounts.

changing the shifter bushing works wonders
