My mate used a full litre to do top and bottom pan of his 58 beetle. (had the body off) - may have been able to squeeze a little more out but it was applied fairly thick! I think it was the chassis coat stuff.

Great
was wondering the same for my pan etc for next year.
Will start at a litre and go from there (in small tins)

I'm going to order 2 litres of the stuff. I am going to paint the chassis of my 66 ragtop while the body is off. I am painting top and bottom of the pan, front suspension, rear sus and the gearbox plus all the brakes. I think 2 litres of it will be sufficient for the whole lot. 1 litre is good enough for just the pan.

Hey Herbie,

Have you ever used POR 15 paint before ?

If so then I am probably telling you stuff you know so you can stop reading now, otherwise, I have a few tips :

1. Always wear gloves as if this gets on your skin it is there until your skin comes off.

2. Always get paint out of the tin and put it into something else to paint from otherwise the next time you come back to use the tin it will have gone hard...bad experience :cry ( I found that a syringe works well for small amounts and cost about 30cents from the chemist).

3. Always seal tin lid with glad wrap between the lid and the tin as you are stuffed if the paint dries between the 2. :(

Not sure if you are going to use Rust preventative as the first coat and then chassis coat over the top, but the chassis coat runs very easily I found (or I was doing something wrong ).

Anyway, good luck, it is great paint and will make your pan look fantastic !!!

Mark.
