hi guys,
i have just taken the front beam out of a wreck to replace all the worn out shit in the front of my square and i thought it might be a good opportunity to lower it an inch or so while its out! how do i do it? i have heard that it isnt too hard and i play mechanic quite a bit so i am keen to give it a go!! if any one has done this before, can they please talk me through it as she goes in to the shop on wednesday to get the swap!

You need weld in adjusters,a welder,angle grinder and it wont be ready by wednesday

i thought that type threes were the only ones that you could lower without adjusters. by turning the beam? or is this an unprefered option for undue load on other parts of the front steering geometry and suspension? she doesnt have to be lowered , i just thought if it was easy while i had it out, then i would give it a go.
any other opinions?

You're right lady, as far as I know type threes can be lowered significantly without welding or grinding anything. If you go too far you may have problems with rubbing or lack of suspension travel depending on the size of tyres you have fitted. try this link.
