Hello people

I have just bought a 1600 twin port in good running order.

Before i throw her in my bus i would like to find out if there is

an easy way i can fix the substantial oil leaks without ripping

the whole engine to pieces. Is there a particular place on

1600's that are prone to this problem and can they be fixed

easy???

Any help would be great, thanx

depends where they are leaking from

If fron push rod tubes you have to pull the heads and put fresh expanded tubes in with new seals

Another place is the oil cooler. Replace seals.

There is a seal behind the flywheel that needs replacing

Another problem if there is blow by into the case from shot pistons. Then it leaks evry where. You need a top end rebuild here.

Othere wise a fist full of powdered cement works wonders at absorbing oil spills
