no top end??

hi all i have a 1800 in my kombi and have just replaced my dcn webber carbs for standard solex's as the dcn's were thursty and hard to keep tuned
i just had the solex's rebuilt by ian at carb tech at redcliff
now my kombi runs smother down low but has no top end cant even do 90kpm we have up sized the jets 4 sizes helped but not by much
any ideas???

yep getting full throttle ,but when i depress the accelerater pedal past half way i get nothing??

You are getting a squirt of juice from the accelerator pump???

Is it an auto or manual??

not sure air 2 fuel ratio ian from carb tech did the carbs up and tuned them with main jets 4 sizes up from standard and still seams very lean up top
pipe is very sooty after short drives on hwy 2
the webbers did the opposite ran quite rich up top??
its a manual

well if your pipe is sooty then it is not lean ! Sounds more like your drowning it.

I agree, far too much fuel at top end can give same symptoms as not enough , it is quite possible that the air correction jets are too small, they should have been enlarged as well, max for the main jet should be about 137
