Kombi M@D - July 16th, 2004 at 07:48 PM

Howdy all :)

Just picked up a genuine fuel injection setup for my bay kombi.

How the hell do I install it?? Is there any VW shop you may know of in Brisvegas region who can do this for me?? and do it well :)

Cheers

Are you using the standard computer or an aftermarket one?

If you are using the standard set up make sure you have all the parts for it, eg: fuel regulator, fuel pump, fuel tank, all the lines, wiring, there are lots.

Not a job for the faint hearted!!

As last reply said make sure you have all the sensors and goodies. If you lay them out as if on engine your gray wires should all fall into place.Type 3 Haynes book has a good section.Make sure you have a fuel tank that has or can fit the fuel return pipe.

I have just recently replaced my fuel vapour lines and fuel filler rubber elbow, but I didn't see anything that could be a 'fuel return' inlet? where is this inlet?

Could I fit the 'fuel return' into the fuel filler neck as it is easy to get at behind the round pop out panel??

THanks guys. BTW this is a genuine FI setup, computer and all.

You need to have the FI fuel tank, it has an outlet pipe & a return pipe on the bottom of the tank, it also has a surge tank built into it which you need when running the high pressure fuel pump so it doesnt starve for fuel.
