Ok I am building myself a sand rail, and I am using Type 3 fastback IRS (was an auto with drum brakes) and i have just bought a 2 litre kombi gearbox
(manual) to go in it.
what drive shafts/cvs do i need to use?? do i just modify the stub axels to suit the 2 litre drive shafts and CVs, or do i modify the drive flanges
on the gearbox to suit type 3 cvs?
will the kombi drive shafts with cvs on either end be the correct lenght to suit the type 3 stubs, meaning i just have to modify the bolt pattern on
the stubs, or will i also have to machine them thinner or thicken them up??
OR can i buy the 2 litre kombi stub axles as well and use them in the type 3 suspension arms?
has anyone done this conversion before?

does anyone know anything about this??
The c.v. inside diameter is the same on both the T1 & T2.All you have to do is machine the c.v. stop back a little so the slightly wider T2 c.v. can go on all the way & you can put the circlip on the shaft.
If you come over to pick up yer stuff I'll show you...:P
thanks for that but im not using type 1 stuff.... or is it the same as type 3?? also if im using 2 litre box and drive shafts doesnt that mean that
they are type 4??
im confused!
