yeah i have heard that 2 but also have heard that they are good if the job is done right
if u have had every thing balanced i would stick with that
but i have never build an engine just read a lot about them

yer ive read heaps of books and built heaps of truck motors like cummins and detroits but this is my first flat 4 its my daily driver and its going in my super bug

I thought 1641 was regarded as still being strong...
I've got a 1641 in a bug and its done 46000 miles, still good.

the walls of the 1641 are thinner than standard 1600 ones... so don't fang the engine!

i had one of these and i use to fang it it went pretty well but bad fuel stuffed a piston. no problem with the pots though

No probs with 1640cc, fang all you like. the 1680cc kit was the BIG problem.

In saying this, you already have balanced 1600 p&B so keep them.

I think you will have more probs with a 12lb flywheel on a 1600, you will loose torque.

Make sure you use a high volume oil pump.

cool will use a hv pump ive got a second fly wheel what wait do you reackon craig
