Kombipete - August 6th, 2004 at 05:56 AM

64 split window panel, has 6 volt sender in fuel tank, can you get a 12volt sender? AND, do i have to get a 12 volt guage as well?

yes to both questions you need 12V stuff to get an accurate reading

Hey Dave, why would the sender be replaced? Didn't think there was such a thing as a 6v or 12v senders?

The sender would probably work, but the resistance would be incorrect for 12 volts so You would get an incorrect reading....

I have never changed the senders to 12 volt, the 6 volt gauge and sender works fine.
