She's a BIT LOOSE
Marineboy - August 12th, 2004 at 11:21 PM

Well...
My buggy is a little loose in the steering, but befor I go and get a new Steering box and install it I need a week or two more out of my baby..

So, She has a king Pin frontend and I have noticed that there is a nut ontop of the box with a small rod jutting out that has a slot to fit a Phillips head screw driver...
Now this looks similar to my old celica and I should just loosen the nut and then tighten up the rod a little and tighten up the nut again.

Which way.. I do not want to force it to much but which way (Clock wise/Anti Clock) does the nut loosen and which way will tighten the slack in the Steering Box...?

Was keen to ask the experts before I get to far into it..!

Thanks, Dean...

Hi

Clockwise is tighter. The best way to go aboout it is make sure the steering is centred, grab hold of the pitman arm and try to lift it up & down, you should just be able to feel play if its right. Laos check you tie rod ends as well for play, pulling them up & down.
