I would not play with it , see how it goes you can all ways pull them off later .
What carbs are you running????
I would just do a little port work to improve the flow of the intake and exhaust.....go to http://www.cal-look.com and see there article...do a search as there are plenty of others.
A nice merged exhaust..not thunderbird type.
Depending on the carbs or carb you pick, with the balancing and 009 dizzy should give a nice little power increase.
Good luck,
Matt
392 degree cam? I think you might have mistyped there...
Stick with the stock valve size with an 85.5mm bore as any larger will just cause problems with shrouding, needing some bloody expensive redesigning
of the combustion chamber or a ridiculous amount of lift just to get back to stock flow figures.
Compression Ratio depends a lot on what cam you are running, which determines where your engine will be making power, what fuel and how much other
work is done to your heads. A figure of 8.0 for a pump fueled egine is a good ballpark (premium if standard combustion chambers, standard if reshaped
and polished.)
