I've got a 1641 TP engine.
I like torque.
I like good fuel comsumption.
I'm not going to fang the engine (much).
Which option should I take?

go the genie and make it look cool
I have a genie system, just sitting around, waiting for someone to beg for it
any extractor system is an improvement over stock, but make sure your jets are changed to compensate for the improved flow. you will
have more power, shouldn't suffer fuel-economy-wise, and the torque will be there too. my genie system is gonna need an angle grinder to nip off the
ends of the j-pipes that were welded on by the muffler shop. :cussing
You only use the standard Muffler system...
if its all You have.....
interesting about the jet upgrade with extractor exhaust systems... I didn't know about that..
Learn something everyday on AussieVeeDubbers...
I have a weber carby on single port heads and a standard Muffler..... I don't think I need to upgrade the jets just yet

Yeh, I thought the better breathing through the less restrictive exhaust will liberate a few more ponies - I only want to be able to over take the
occasional bus and granny in thier Corolla (pre '85 mind you). I think the fuel consumptions should be better too as the engine has to waste less
energy to push out the waste gasses..
hmmmm...yes.. jetting... if I just tell a carby or VW shop I have a 1641TP with a Genie exhaust system, they'll know which sized jets to sell me?
better off going to a dyno, then you can get a good idea of where the a/f ratio is. it may very well be wrong already.
if its a stock carbie, then go up 1 jet size.
good luck...
