Wide 5 disc kit pulls up short!!
Menangler - September 5th, 2004 at 08:18 PM

Just fitted a wide 5 rear disc brake kit to my '69 Beetle, as they say nothing is a simple bolt on install, and true to form the hand brake cables are 1/2 inch too short, the steel brake lines that now go to the calipers are too short, and the wheel studs are too short for my BRM's

I can fix all these problems, but it's a nuisance, and shouldn't happed with a bolt on kit.

I bought the kit from @# when I was in the states, its a nice kit, but it's just a pain when it dosen't bolt up how it should.

Here's a solution, move the rear axle forward 1/2 an inch, narrow the rear track, and put skinny lawn mower wheels on the back. Easy fix to all your problems. You'll look like a reversing cal looker too.. :thumb
