shocker advice
65busser - September 10th, 2004 at 11:37 PM

Anyone recommend shockers for my 59 bug. It's a spline lower in the rear and has adjusters on the front. It rides nice now, but one shock in the rear is on the way out, and they're all old, so the rest will follow before long I imagine.

Normally,
its gas pressurised shocks for the rear
and
Oil Shocks for the front....

Its thought that Gas shocks are too hard for the front of a Beetle as there isn't a lot of weight there...

and then paint them Your favorite colour.....

If You use oil shocks at the rear most favour Heavy Duty, as thats where all the weight is....

Koni "reds" are a really good, adjustable shock absorber.

Also god reports about KYB, but go the Koni. Good shockies cost a bit more though.
