Here are some pics of the pop out kit I have.
I am having trouble working out what goes where. Do I need to have the car upholstered before or after the hinge is in.
Does it look as if I have everything?
I have read the thread where Dasdubber explains how he did it, but I no understand!

I cant see how the "hinge" hinges
maybe they don't hinge, they might just flex, as they only popout a small way.......
Hi astro56,
well, I've never seen anything like that before....
I'm not sure if they are hinges or not....
so I can't comment on Silvers - glass bending - like on the type 3 fastbacks... the glass flexes.... no hinge... comment..
Maybe someone may have seen someting like that before...
Where did You get the pop outs from??
Are they original VW pop outs??
The late model beetles all had the holes etc there for pop outs... [1968>]
There are UK pop outs I was going to buy years ago.. they were different to the Original VW pop outs..
Best of Luck -- Car looks great...

After studying Your pics again astro56,
it looks like the Hoodlining etc goes in first then the hinge[??] is screwed to the car and then the plastic cover covers the hinge so it cannot be
seen... neat but different...
The plastic covers would go on Last...
I've never seen anything like those before....
Best of Luck

Yep you have everything there, those hinges do flex once you have them attached to the pillar. You just need to get the holes in the correct location.
I'm about to head off to the vw show here in brissy so I'll try and explain more clearly tonight.
Cheers
Alan
Astro you can fit them after the trimming has been done, no worries. They dont hinge just flex with the S shaped hinge. The long bit with the threaded
holes sits on the outside of the frame. The open bit of the S hinge (that the screws pass thru) fits onto the window opening. You can fit the popouts
in to the window opening and get them centered with the hinge sitting in position. Then drill the holes for the screws thru the window frame.
Once the front hinge is attached and secure, you push the window shut at the back. Then lock the latch in the shut position. Hold the latch plate hard
against the inside roof panels and drill the holes for the securing screws. Release the latch and fit the screws.
Well said Grey...saves me some typing
