Im in the habit of calling all VW vans 'Kombi's'. I realise there are transporters, microbuses, vanagons etc.
I now own an 82 Vanagon (T3), what is best way to refer to this in further posts to avoid confusion, is it still considered a "Kombi' ?
Thanks for your help

put up a pic
is it a camper?
been interested and owned a few splitties in my younger days
but i call emm Kombi/ whatever.... in ur case VW Kombi Vanagon
what you have is what you rightly referred to as a T3.
a splitty ('50 to '67) is a T1, but nearly everyone calls them a splitty.
a bay window is a T2 or a type 2, but commonly referred to as a bay.
a T3 can also be referred to as a vanagon, caravelle, or is referred to by some people as a Wedge.
after that comes the T4, and now the T5.
all are referred to as a Kombi, but none have been officially been titled "Kombi" from the factory until the current model of T4.
I hope this confuses you more.
