Just picked up the trike after having replaced pistons & cylinders on left side. 4 days later I was going for a ride when it lost considerable power & started backfiring. Managed to get the short distance home. put hand behind right exhaust & within seconds my hand turned black. Not good!!!!!! What happened . when we checked on monday compression was fine on the right hand side. so they just replaced the left.

Am I ever going to be able to have this thing going for more than a couple of days?

Obvious answer is to call the people who 'fixed' it for you, but my guess is the rings have shat themselves. Stan Pobjoy has been doing a lot of trike engines, give him a call mebbe. god knows what they've done to it....
