I intended to all the stuff that is reqd anyway, so getting the Eng Cert is no big deal. It's all apart at the moment and the body will go to the
panel shop sometime in the next week or so. Pics will go in the Members Rides section.
I was thinking of getting the local exhaust shop to make up some heat exchangers for the extractors, but too much stuffing around compared to a hot
air blower.

some of the jap cars have electric heater fans in em so check out the wreckers and rip one out. grab all the tubes as well and i am sure you will be able to install it easily
some model landcruiser does. Think Wes used one in his baja.
and I thought it was for his long curly hair , Oh well... then I was going to say, try the 12 v Hair Dryer Shop.....

I've never seen one but know that are about.... in the "olden" days, they used a coil of resistance wire on a ceramic tube about 250mm
long with a metal [chrome] backing plate - to reflect all the heat to the windscreen... and this is the best part... they were stuck to the windscreen with those clear rubber suction cups
[which may have been black] I can remember seeing them on early model holdens etc.. when I was a youngster.... never you mind How young!!

but no good for ya beetle mate, it works off ya radiator water!"

I think you have me confused with someone WITH hair.
I apologise for bringing this up again but let me see if I've got this right.
To get my demisters working again I DON'T need hair dryers or other stuff, I just need to replace the J-pipes with ones with heat exchangers on
them (std), and hook the hoses up from the fan shroud through the tin ware to the heat exchanger.
I hope it is all this simple?
Just make sure the heater box has the same inside diameter exhaust pipe as the J pipe. Apparently some Brazil heater box's have a smaller pipe
size and this will affect your exhaust flow with the 1916.My brother had this problem when they fitted Brazilian boxes after a rear ender. The motor
went doey in the top end because it couldn't breathe.
Also try boating/marine stores for the fan, I bought one years ago for my boat.
Original setup works well as long as there are no exhaust leaks !!!

now that I am aware that you are probably a year ahead of me in the rebuilding stakes. What do you need to pass rego? I am putting a '56 body on
a 68 pan with a 1600 in back. Demister, seat belts (Front and rear), Engineering cert, anything else?

Here is what my Engineer has given me:
"1970 model vehicle with older body ('56), all vehicle now 1970.
ADR's applicable:
4 - seat belts
5 - seat belt anchorages
7 - hydraulic brake hose
20 - safety rims
REQUIRE:
4.5% CO at idle
noise test or documentation 96 dBa at 3/4 throttle
demister
windscreen washers
2 speed wipers
indicators not less than 450mm above ground level"
If you're putting your body on a '68 pan, you shouldn't need an Eng Cert if you're putting a 1600 behind it.
Go to the RTA web site and double check, but you only need an Eng Cert if engine size is greater than 15% over std (worked out on the chassis, not
body).
try a travel store as all things in those shops run off 12v dont they
or a duty free store in the city
