Type 4 manifolds

Hi, just doing a little research. Does anybody know who sells or make manifolds to put webbers on a Type 4 motor? its in a upright conversion in a beetle. Cheers

I got mine from CB performance:

Beware for upright conversion though (when using type I cooling) because the manifolds are not offset (they are straight), the linkage may hit the fan shroud. In this case you will need to use offset filter bases for the carbs to clear the fan shroud:

I am sure there are other ways to get around it. I had a pair of shorter manifolds that I had to sell to nbturbo as they were too short for the carbs to clear the shroud (never mind the linkage)...but the CB ones are taller and clear okay. All is sweet now.

VVDS in Syd may stock them...not sure?

Cool its for mates L bug. He runs a 1800cc type 4 at present with twin solexes but has a set of webbers to put on. So trying to source some manifolds for them. Would and exhaust shop be abel to make some up?

Anything is possible with time and money. I guess they could be made up from steel but you would need to consider heat transfer from the heads - may boil the fuel in the bowl of the carbies? For the time/$ involved to have them made, may be more cost efficient to just buy a pair?

For linkages and air cleaners ,you can't beat sharpbuilts price of $240 for geuine CB Performance products which sure beats Vintage veedubs price of approx $400 ,nice profit margin hey.
