Can't get the bleeping engine out, and the culprit is the top bolt to the gear box on passenger side.
The &%@#$%$ thing won't budge.
Anyone got any suggestions? It is really cramped getting to it, so have even stripped town the top end of the engine and removed the rear tinware to
try and get at it from there.
The trouble is also there isn't enough clearance around it to get a socket over it properly. I can get a spanner around it reasonably well, but it is
just too tight.
I am really getting peeved off now.:cry
Take an old socket and grind the outside down until it slips on. Then use a couple of extensions bars to get you room away from the bell housing so as to get leverage.
as a LAST resort carefully use a hammer and chisel
do make sure with your spanner as well as the chisel that you are turning the nut anti clockwise (off course)
eventually the nut may split open (dremel tools can help split a stubborn cuickly!!
It is tight in there,
I use a long 17mm ring spanner, not a socket.
ring spanner only just engages the top of the bolt, because like the socket it fouls on the bell housing, and I fear I'll strip it if I try it.
The socket I have doesn't look like its got a lot to grind off, but I may try and get another and have a go anyway.
How do I use a chisel to undo the bolt?
