dropped spindles
Cam - September 28th, 2004 at 06:51 PM

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about going with dropped spindles on my balljoint front end. Who on here has run them and have you had any issues with them?
Also how much will a pair set me back and where can I get them from?

I'm also looking for someone who sells eccentric camber nuts for balljoints, can someone point me in the right direction for these too?

Cheers,
Cam

I believe I saw a pair or dropped spindles at Vintage the last time I was there for somewhere between $500 and $600.

i think it's cb performance who make them.
i fitted a pair to my mates '71 and they are great! just as long as you want to go down 2.5 inches with no adjustibility..... we later changed his beam for an adjustable one, the combination of the two left him with roughly 1-2 centimetres of ground clearance....:duh but adjustible ;)

the only thing to think about is: if you want to use wide wheels you could have problems, the dropped spindles make the front wheels sit 'out' a bit, i don't know how much but i've heard it can be a problem....

The wheels stick out a bit more depending on which type of spindle you use, some are cut and re-welded , these make the wheels stick out.
If you buy proper cast lowered ones you wont have this problem.

Try Classic VW (Pacific)
They are bringing lots of good and cheap parts over.

They are very helpful
