How do you take the needle off a speedo?

after removing the unit and then disassembling it
you just pull it off (all incl Mercs ive had come off easily)

Dou wanna interchange it or repl with a looker ?/

Unless it's a type three speedo, in which case I haven't yet been able to get one off without breaking something.

or a kombi, which I have not been able to pull off
